Who We Are

Karin Elke Hofert Feix

Professor

Karin HOFERT graduated in Architecture at Barcelona School of Architecture ETSAB in 1986, and since 1987 teaches  Architectural Design  in this School. From 2004 to 2009 she was co-director and teacher of a UPC postgraduate course on Interior Design. From 2008 until 2014 she has been Vice-Dean in charge of the International Relations at ETSAB.

She has been invited as visiting lecturer to several universities in Europe, Southamerica, Australia and Asia.

 

Since 1995 she has built up and directed a good number of international workshops and seminars, included an international conference. She also has taught and been jury member at her own and at several foreign workshops. 

 

Her professional activity in the last years has focused the refurbishment of  private housing. In former times she got awards in several design competitions on public space and public buildings.

Stefano Di Vita – Architect (Politecnico di Milano, 2004) and PhD in Urban, Regional and Environmental Planning (Politecnico di Milano, 2009) – is research fellow and adjunct professor in Urban Planning and Design at the Politecnico di Milano, Department of Architecture and Urban Studies. His research and teaching activities deal, in particular, with urban change processes through the analysis of both related phenomena and tools (i.e. policies, plans, governance). That is, with spatial dynamics related to urban innovation and city repositioning processes through the analysis of:
-    mega-events and mega-projects;
-    urban regeneration processes, also against the backdrop of the current urban crisis and the spread of ICTs within the urban space.

Stefano Di Vita

Professor

Martino Mocchi, born in 1982, obtained his Master in Philosophy at University of Pavia and his PhD in “Project and Technologies for the Cultural Heritage Enhancement” at Politecnico di Milano. His research focuses on the intersection between architecture and philosophy, centering themes such as the perception of the landscape, the multisensory experience of the space, the soundscape. He collaborates with the associations FKL - Forum Klanglandschaft and Terraceleste. From an artistic point of view, he explores the relations between sound and arts (theater, painting, photography). He has published many articles on these topics, also participating in international conferences and meetings. He is professor of “Landscape Aesthetics” at Politecnico di Milano.

Martino Mocchi

Professor

Riccardo Genta (Pavia 01/07/1970), architect, graduated at the Politecnico di Milano with prof. arch. Remo Dorigati. He got an Erasmus scholarship for (E.T.S.A. Madrid) where he studied with profs. G. Ruiz Cabrero, J. Maroto, J. Bellosillo, J. Frechilla and A. Campo Baeza.

He has participated at three international design workshops:

Taller de mejoramiento urbano “Un mejoramiento posible” (Santo Domingo – Republica Dominicana,  1993)

Un’area dismessa: il caso Palazzo Esposizioni - Fiera a Pavia”, (Pavia, 1995)

“Urban renewal and town culture” s (Pavia, 1996)

Responsible of the Youth Comission OAPPC Pavia.

From 1998 onwards he works as free architect in his own office.

Jaime BLANCO graduated in Architecture at the Barcelona School of Architecture ETSAB, belonging to the Polytechnic University of Catalonia UPC, in 2002, and obtained his PhD, with a cum laude qualification, by the same university in 2016.

In the current academic year (2016-2017) teaches as an associate professor, lecturer of Projects I, in the Department of Architectural Projects of the Barcelona School of Architecture ETSAB.

He develops his professional activity as a founding partner of Mestura architects, created in 2005 in Barcelona. He has participated in numerous architectural competitions, with a total of fifteen first prizes. His work has been awarded several prizes (1st prize MEA 2013 Mediterranean Sustainable Architecture Awards, 1st prize of the 4th Exhibition of Architecture of the Lands of Lleida, selection in the 1st Exhibition of Architecture of Barcelona and distinction to the Prizes Ceramics of Architecture And Interior Design 2010, among others) has been published in national and international specialized journals (Arquitectura Viva, A & V Monographs, Future Architectures, A10, Suma + and Exe Architecture, among others) and has participated in several exhibitions.

Filippo Raveraarchitect, was born in Piacenza on 18/12/1986.

2013 he graduated from Politecnico di Milano Master degree with honors. 

2014 inclusion at the Architects Association of Piacenza.

He works as Design Studio assistant at the Politecnico of Milano.

 

Beatrice Galimberti (1989) is an architect Milan-based active in practice, research, teaching, and cooperation.
After having completed her studies at Politecnico di Milano (2013, Architecture M.Sc.), she is working as architect and she collaborates with Politecnico di Milano, where she is research and teaching assistant in several studios and courses, focusing on temporary habitat, public space, landscape and urban design issues. Her interests are aimed at partaking and developing innovative and interdisciplinary research and teaching methodologies. 
She is part of NGO Architetti Senza Frontiere Italia, Italian chapter of Architectures Sans Frontières International, where she is engaged both on training programmes and live projects (international and local cooperation) with a strong attention to equitable production of the built environment. 
Recently she co-funded Ibidem an independent urban research and design group.

 

Ahmad Rajabi, is the TA in this course. He is at the very end of his master at POLIMI, the sustainable multi-scale architecture. He has collaborated with M.Ali Najafi an architect and movie director, in both fields during his undergrad. He has given few lectures on compositions, pictorialism and etc. and has teaching assistance experience in Esfahan, Iran. He is also participating in www.Korrection.ir a young online Persian journal dedicated to Architectural Readings (in its literal meaning).
